Acceptance

An Audio Class

About the Speaker

Yisrael Pinson
Rabbi Yisrael Pinson is the Director of the Daniel B. Sobel Friendship House in West Bloomfield, MI. Since joining the Friendship House he has helped create a local Jewish Recovery Community where recovering addicts are helped through support, guidance, friendship and community. Rabbi Yisrael facilitates Jewish Recovery meetings, where recovering addicts from all 12-step programs meet and share regularly. He also teaches classes on Judaism & Recovery.

"And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing or situation -- some fact of my life -- unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment".

"Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in G-d's world by mistake. Until I could accept my alcoholism, I could not stay sober; unless I accept life completely on life's terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in me and in my attitudes."

Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous pg. 417

An audio class that expands on the concept of Acceptance in Judaism, seen through the lens of the Baal Shem Tov's teaching on Divine Providence.

The inspirations that this rabbi has given me it is better than a meeting it self. I tired a lot in meetings and I lose my concentration very fast. Hashem give me ADDED & dyslexia for a reason. BH I understand my limitations and I do not suffer instead I accept them and I continue each day learning from them. I davem to be able to help people that have my problems.
I try to concentrate on my present needs and avoid worrying about things that are not within my capacity to change.

Gratitude
I am so grateful that there are now blogs and audio classes for those of us in recovery. This is something that I had been yearning for and needed. Hashem always finds a way if it is for the good! Thank you so much!

Rabbi Pinson,

A very powerful message. Thank you very much for sharing. With Hashem's will, please keep up your posts and maybe a recovering Rabbi will be located by 770 (or discovered) in the Boston area.
